Lisa Mitchell

Lisa Mitchell is the Founder and Executive Director of Horizons Academy | An EUTR Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Early Childhood Education and Gerontology and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Psychology.

With more than 40 years of combined professional experience, Lisa has dedicated her career to education, academic intervention, advocacy, behavioral support, trauma-informed care, leadership, and family services. Her diverse background has allowed her to work alongside children, adolescents, adults, and families in educational, community, and support settings.

​Lisa Mitchell completed a certification through the DuBard Association Method at the University of Southern Mississippi and has received specialized training in Structured Literacy and the Orton-Gillingham approach. She works with students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences using evidence-based reading instruction grounded in the science of reading. Lisa continues to pursue advanced professional training to ensure the students and families she serves benefit from current, research-based instructional practices.

She founded Horizons Academy with a clear vision: to create a faith-led learning community where students are known, challenged, encouraged, and equipped to succeed.

Brooke Hudson

Brooke holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and brings a passion for helping students connect academic learning with real-world application. Her broad knowledge and instructional experience allow her to teach mathematics and science across elementary, middle, and high school levels, providing students with a strong academic foundation while challenging them to think critically, solve problems, and reach their full potential.

Brooke believes students learn best when they actively engage with concepts through discussion, laboratory investigations, project-based learning, movement, outdoor exploration, and meaningful real-world experiences.

Brooke creates an engaging, high-expectation learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, think independently, collaborate with others, and develop confidence in their academic abilities.

Hilary Leahy

Hilary holds a Master of Education, is a Georgia Level 5 Certified Educator (PreK–5th), and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She brings extensive experience from public, private, and clinical educational settings, providing her with a strong foundation in child development, literacy, individualized instruction, and elementary education.

Hilary is passionate about helping children develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning while building strong academic foundations. She thoughtfully designs engaging lessons that encourage students to ask questions, solve problems, think critically, and become independent learners.

Families appreciate Hilary's calm, organized, and relationship-centered approach to teaching. She creates classrooms where every student is known, encouraged, and challenged through meaningful instruction and high academic expectations.

Caitlyn Parvin

Caitlyn specializes in early childhood development and has her own experience as a divergent learner. She will be supporting the early elementary students. She wants to become certified in American Sign Language (ASL). She currently works at Pikes nursery and love all things plant related! Her goal is to teach deaf and hearing impaired children and work in a library setting!
